Mission
To insure that every American military person who so desires it, hears their name ring out at mail call during their time of service to country.

Purpose
To match up American citizens who are currently living stateside with American military personnel so that every American military personnel can receive support and written companionship from those back home.

Security
This program is designed to avoid security risks by establishing one-to-one, ongoing relationships that are initiated by the civilians who send ONLY postcards until their military penpal gives other permission.

History
Dianne Johnson?s daughter was new to the military when current events suddenly gave her participation a more imminent aspect. When Dianne reached out to friends to join in congratulating her daughter on her graduation, the response was overwhelming. By word of mouth, dozens of women, some of whom Dianne had never met, requested to continue to write to her daughter. Dianne offered to share with her daughter?s fellow graduates and again the response was overwhelming. We realized it needed to be extended to the whole military population to be sure that every single military person is given this same opportunity to have this personal
